Two days are not enough to see everything and it is not worth the 6 hours journey to reach Sapa when you come from Hanoi. That's why, we recommend to spend 3 days in Sapa to enjoy the fresh weather and take your time to take photos at the different attractions around Sapa.

Trekking in Sapa without a tour guide is certainly possible and can be a great way to explore the region independently. The cost of trekking solo will depend on your individual needs, but generally, it's cheaper than signing up for an organized tour with a Sapa guide.

The best time to visit Sapa is in September and October when the rice terraces are at their most splendid; or in April and May when the weather is ideal and skies are clear. For those who don't mind hot weather, June to August is a fine time to visit. Expect chilly weather from November to March.

Sapa's a must-visit if you want breathtaking rice paddies, easygoing hikes, and a chance to experience Vietnam's diverse ethnic groups. Be prepared for crowds though, as it's a popular backpacker spot.
